Ascend Solutions began in Brisbane in 2016 and still works with businesses across the inner suburbs and the greater Brisbane area. That history is why the Brisbane client base skews towards businesses we have grown alongside rather than one-off engagements, and why the Queensland side of the practice has never been an outpost.

Queensland Compliance Is Not the Same
Payroll tax is a state tax, and the thresholds, rates and grouping rules in Queensland differ from the ACT and from New South Wales. A business that crosses state lines, or an owner running entities in more than one, can be liable in a state they never thought about. We handle the multi-state case rather than treating payroll as a single national problem, and we lodge in the right place.

Is Ascend actually based in Brisbane?
Ascend Solutions was founded in Brisbane and maintains a Brisbane presence with its own local number, (07) 3067 2425. The practice works remotely rather than from a walk-in office, so there is no shopfront to visit, but the Queensland side of the business is not a call-forwarding arrangement.
How does Queensland payroll tax differ?
Payroll tax is administered by each state, so Queensland sets its own threshold, rate and grouping rules, and they are not the same as the ACT or New South Wales. If you employ across borders, or you control more than one entity, grouping can pull you over a threshold unexpectedly. We assess the position per state rather than assuming one national answer.
Which Brisbane suburbs do you work with?
Clients are spread across the inner suburbs and greater Brisbane, including New Farm, Fortitude Valley, the CBD, South Brisbane, West End, Paddington, Toowong, Bulimba, Milton and Kangaroo Point. Because delivery is remote, location within Brisbane makes no practical difference to the service.
Can you do more than bookkeeping?

Yes. We review the existing file first and tell you plainly what condition it is in. Catch-up work is quoted separately from the ongoing fee, so you can see what you are paying to fix versus what you are paying to maintain.
